Tja, was gibt’s da alles zu sagen? Ich heiße Mandy und erblickte 1981 im schönen Thüringen das Licht der Welt. Mittlerweile wohne ich in einem kleinen Münchner Vorort. Well, where to start? My name is Mandy and I live in a small town close to Munich, Bavaria, Germany (Yep, that’s where the Octoberfest takes place...).
Mein erstes Modellpferd kaufte ich 1996 in den USA. Mit “Sundown” (Proud Arabian Stallion #933) stieg ich in dieses tolle Hobby ein - allerdings kannte ich damals keinerlei Bezugsstellen in Deutschland (Internet hatten wir noch nicht), was zumindest für meinen Geldbeutel gut war. I got my first model horse - a PAS “Sundown” - in 1996 at the Arabian Nights Dinner Show in Orlando, Florida . It took a few more years till I really got started since we didn’t have internet connection back then. (Yes, there was a time.....*lol*)
1997-1998 verbrachte ich ein Jahr als Austausch-Schülerin in Alabama, USA. Dort hatte ich leider überhaupt nichts mit Modellpferden zu tun, dafür aber eine wundervolle Gastfamilie zu der u. a. drei Quarter Horses und jede Menge Miniature Horses gehörten. I spent a year as an exchange student in Wedowee, Alabama (GREAT place, if you’ve never been there you should definitely go!) and absolutely fell in love with that wonderful country and its great people. I had a wonderful (host) family and we keep in touch till this day! I owe very much to them and to my family for supporting me as much as they all did and for giving me the opportunity to experience the most terrific year of my life. Even though I didn’t find out more about the model horse hobby I had the best time in the Heart of Dixie *YEEHAW*. To see some pics of this gorgeous place go my page Alabama.

Nach meiner Rückkehr nach Deutschland kam dann irgendwann doch der Anschluss ans Netz und meine “Sammelwut” war kaum noch zu stoppen. Dank Internet - speziell Ebay - findet man also schnell alles über das Modellpferde-Hobby heraus (MP-Clubs, Verändern, Resins etc.). Wie für die meisten Sammler sicher auch, gab es für mich anfangs “nur” OF Modelle, bald aber sattelte ich um auf Custs und später dann auch auf Resins (mein Portemonnaie verzeihe es mir *gg*). Back in Germany, my parents finally had internet connection and the world of Breyer & co. opened up to me. Now I have about 40 models - I don’t buy any model that is there plus I concentrate on customized models and Resins (IF I can afford them *heehee*) - I wouldn’t have enough room for them to start with.
